Project Details
This kitchen is an example of an interesting combination of material textures. The lower and upper cabinets look different. The glossy white upper part reflects and multiplies the sunlight in the kitchen, it looks weightless despite the fairly large size of the cabinets. On the contrary, the lower part has a matte surface. Its dark gray hue is deep and rich. Each door has an integrated handle made of aluminum profile. In fact, both versions of the fronts are made of acrylic. Its base is an MDF board covered with a special polymer. The surface can be glossy or matte, but essentially it is the same material, very durable and strong. The kitchen countertop is located in the main area, then it goes under the window and ends with a bar counter. To make the part of the countertop that replaces the windowsill align with the main working area, the cabinets had to be made slightly taller than usual. For this, the lower cabinets have high legs and a plinth covering them. It is made of chipboard and is 16 cm high. The upper row of cabinets has three fronts in height and reaches the ceiling. The lower fronts have built-in aluminum handles, while the others open by pressing. In the far left cabinet, a microwave oven is built-in. To place it correctly, a certain depth of the recess for embedding is required. Since it is larger than the standard 30 cm for this model, all upper cabinets are made slightly deeper. The deepest element of the upper tier is the cabinet above the refrigerator. Project hardware is produced by different companies: hinges with dampers and pull-out tandembox systems are by Hettich; lift mechanisms, tip-on for touch opening, and special hinges for these cabinets are by Blum, and the pull-out cargo is by Vauth-Sagel.
